Luxury Home Builder Sees Consistent Growth in Online Visibility Thanks to Strategic SEO

When the SEO campaign kicked off in 2016, there were many builders servicing the same high-end market that our client was targeting, particularly in the Brisbane and Gold Coast regions. While competition was fierce, many of the competitor websites were lacking, just as our client’s website had been, just a short time prior.

Challenge

This luxury home builder had been designing and building state-of-the-art luxury properties since their inception back in 1996. When they came to Heart Digital in February of 2016, they had an excellent reputation, but their existing website was less than spectacular, and it hadn’t had any previous SEO work done on it.

Rather than attempt to improve the rankings of their current website, we explained to the managing director, the merits of having a whole new website built and how, when combined with an effective SEO campaign, would help the client to attract a greater number of leads. Once the website had been sent live, it was then up to us to put a plan in motion that would catapult the client’s website ahead of their competitors.

Solution

Just as it is to this day, the number one factor that influenced search engine rankings back in 2016, was on-page content. After performing extensive keyword research for every type of building service that our client offered, we set about creating an exhaustive list of landing pages with keywords mapped to each particular page. Back then, the client had was operating two separate websites; one for Brisbane and one for Gold Coast. So, what was done for one website, was also required to be done for the other.

By this time, we now had a full list of all landing pages that were required to be create for both Gold Coast and Brisbane, the keywords that were to be mapped to each of these pages, and associated monthly search volumes for each of these keywords, giving us a rough estimate of how much organic traffic we could expect to bring in from each page, depending on where the page happened to be ranking on page 1 of Google.

We began to create the landing pages and as a rule, made it so the pages had to have at least 600 words to begin with. Once these pages had been published, rankings progress was monitored. Each month, an additional 300 words was added to existing landing pages.

This step was repeated each month, until the landing page was ranking in the top 3 positions for the most important keywords that had been assigned to that landing page. This process of landing page propagation and word count expansion continued on, and within 12 months, both the client’s Gold Coast and Brisbane websites were ranking in the top 3 for a considerable amount of lucrative keywords.

In December, 2023, the client made the decision to merge the Brisbane and Gold Coast websites into a single website, with a new domain name. Following this migration process, the new website has continued to rank extremely well for many important keywords.
